About

Jazz vocalist Danielle Reich enchants audiences with her sultry, classically-informed vocal interpretations of selections ranging from the Great American songbook to French chanson, with plenty of New Orleans trad jazz, jazz manouche, and jazzed pop in the mix.

Danielle studied classical voice, music theory, and psychology at Stetson University and the University of Florida, performed with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus, then began performing jazz in the Houston area in 2006. After several years in Austin, followed by a brief but beautiful stint in the Seattle area, Danielle returned to Houston, where she reunited with fellow musicians and started new collaborations, performing in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Galveston, Round Top, and areas between and beyond.

Danielle is a flexible vocalist with an expansive repertoire, currently singing Prohibition-era trad jazz with Boomtown Brass Band, jazz manouche with Swing Rendezvous, and performing with numerous small groups that might incorporate Big Band-era swing, French chanson, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, pop, country, and Western Swing tunes in their repertoire.

Danielle has released two albums under her own name, performed vocals for three additional albums, and has been featured festivals including LuluFest Austin (with Bruce Saunders), the Trinity Jazz Festival (Bluebonnet Blossoms), the Manouche NW Concert Series (Nuages), the Houston Composers Salon (with Shawn Renzoh Head), the Austin Jazz Festival (Danielle Reich Trio), Houston Fringe Festival (Relative Dissonance), and the Western Swing Hall of Fame (Lady Be Good).

Danielle is also a board-certified Music Therapist, and is enjoying using her love of music to help people achieve therapeutic goals in individual and group Music Therapy sessions and adaptive music lessons.
